About UEMS-ID (Section Infectious Diseases)

The UEMS section and board of Infectious Diseases (UEMS-ID) was founded in 1997 (Section) and 1998 (EBID). UEMS-ID has delegates from more than 30 countries. 

The UEMS-ID mission ie to guarantee the highest standards of care in the field of Infectious Diseases in Europe by ensuring that the specialty of Infectious Diseases is recognized in all European countries, that the professional training and education in Infectious Diseases are raised to the highest possible level and that there is free movement of Infectious Diseases‘ specialist physicians within Europe.
